All Natural Face Mask, that Actually WORKS

How to make your own EASY and all natural face mask that will leave your skin flawless looking and feeling great!

Gather ingredients from your local all natural store (I like Good Earth or Whole Foods).
You will need: Bentonite, Witch Hazel, Essential Oil (I prefer tea tree.  It is known to heal skin as well as to remove bacteria and fungus.),  (add raw honey if you have dry skin)

Add a spoonful of bentonite to a small bowl, slowly add witch hazel and essential oil (varies depending of skin type), (half spoonful of honey), stir until a smooth consistency is achieved (may be slightly clumpy).  To save time, twist your hair in a bun for waves the next day, and tint your eyebrows for best definition (I purchase from a beauty supply store and do two shades darker than my hair).  I do this weekly to save time by applying less makeup each day.

Spread mask onto face using fan brush (or fingertips).  Leave on for about 10 minutes.  You will feel the mast tighten.  Then remove with cool water (cool water helps tighten pores).  Be sure to add enough water to moisten the mask for removal, if left too dry it is difficult to rinse.

Here is an untouched photo the right after mask (camera flash only).

... and the next morning :)

Perfect Waves, Without the Damage or Work

If you're like me, you enjoy looking great, but don't want to take the time to do it.  One way to look good for any occasion, is adding wavy hair.  I have stick straight hair, with no waves or any body.  So curls are very difficult to achieve, especially curls that look good.  Here's the best trick that will work with any hair type and any length.  It will make straight hair wavy and tame curly hair.  And the best part is, NO HEAT, so no damage!!

Hair before (yes this is natural without blowdryer or straightener).

Start by adding a bit of your favorite hair product.  I like to use just a bit of mousse.  Then twist hair into bun.  Placement of bun determines where the waves fall.  Tightness of bun determines tightness of curles.  Leave overnight.

Untwist bun.  I like to spray with hairspray, but not everyone needs the extra product.

Shake out hair.  And there it is!  Perfect waves!

Save the planet, RECYCLE!

I always feel like I have done something good for the world when I recycle the items that I have used.  We consume so much, that it feels good to be able to make other uses for what would normally be considered garbage.

Save an old candle jar (clean it out), add pebbles... You now have a pretty display for your make-up brushes!

Awkward Shelf Space

In order for me to keep my sanity during the day, I like things to look nice and be functional.  One space that is always annoying is when someone decides to add a shelf to a space that seems like it can't be used for anything.  Well I found a use for it...  When in doubt, add pink!!

Here is an awkward shelf that is above the toilet in my bathroom.  It is too narrow to add anything useful in a bathroom, like towels.  And toilet paper just looked bad on display.

So, I took all my perfume bottles, found some glass designs, and added it to the self.  (Pink is always my color of choice, so use whatever matches your personality.)  The contrasting shapes add fun variety.  The glass bottles add a bit of elegance... And the best part is, the items displayed are ones I actually use!

Hand Soap

Part of my healthy lifestyle is trying to avoid chemicals in all the products we put our bodies every day... So, I started making my own.  BONUS!  It's much less expensive than buying it pre-made!

Gather supplies: foaming hand soap dispenser, pure castile soap, citrus essential oil (or your fav flav), some cute pebbles, food coloring, water.

Place pebbles to line bottom of soap container, fill castile soap to level with top of pebbles, add a couple drops of oil, add a drop of food coloring, fill with water to just below top, twist on top, swirl contents to mix.

... And the best part is, it looks and smells amazing!  ;)

Pomegranate Love

If you're anything like me you LOVE pomegranate season... but hate the hassle of eating them :(

Well here's your solution!!

Buy pomegranates from Costco.  They're huge and they're the best price!  So Delish!

Cut top off, then cut pomegranate horizontally, open.

Get a deep bowl and a wood spoon or a spoon with holes.  Slightly loosen edges, hold pomegranate face down over bowl, hit top with spoon (I have to hit hard), repeat with both halves (if it splashes out, either use a larger bowl or cover with a paper towel).

All the seeds will fall between your fingers and into the bowl.

Eat like cereal for breakfast...  Or enjoy any time of day!!
